I have watched so many Cataclysm Beta videos recently my head is ready to explode. I chose STV to post, mainly because it shows ZG at the start, and illustrates why I have told anyone who will listen that they MAY need a better video card to really enjoy the new design. I say this mostly because of the incredible details (watch this in 720p) of the water and especially all the tree cover.

Zul'Gurub in Cataclysm

Lately there have been MANY rumblings of ZG not existing in Cataclysm. Please read the 9 word post CAREFULLY that came from Valnoth, Forums Moderator & Lead Designer, on the World of Warcraft forums.

"Zul'Gurub is gone as a raid instance come Cataclysm."

I welcome your comments on this sentence and want to read your opinions as to what this means and if you even care. I would guess we will have clarification soon. Meanwhile, toons have been flooding to ZG in hopes of a Hatchling, Tiger, or Raptor dropping.

Here is my educated guess on what's in-store for ZG.
I believe the sky actually is falling, and the instance is being removed completely and the rare drops will be impossible to get again.

In the current Cataclysm beta, ZG is simply a questing zone where you kill some of the High Priests of Hakkar. I can see a scenario where at the end of the quest series you 'attune' to a new 5-man encounter that has the bosses and drops still, but I'm sticking with the idea that Blizzard is going to make better use of an area that is only used for rep and mount farming. I can also see a scenario where the lore, bosses, and drops dissappear only for a while and re-enter the game in a major patch or expansion in the future. Blizzard LOVES to bring things back! :)

Everyday more and more of you are working to complete the Loremaster achievement before Cataclysm is released. I am currently 188 quests away from the title and achievement. (I left Kalimdor for last.) A helpful article was written on add-ons for this achievement on wow.com today. I personally don't use any of these add-ons, but I can see their usefulness! (I've already got 110MB of add-ons running...don't need more)

So, for those who have been with us for a few years, you know my routine for expansions. I wait in line at Best Buy for about 6-7 hours, find someone in line who will buy the collectors edition for me (since you're limited to one copy per person - and Amellae has to have one too of course), buy my own collectors edition at midnight along with a regular version, exchange it with some money for the second collectors edition with the person I made quick friends with, and hurry home to install.

Well, during maintenance today, this appeared on the front page of worldofwarcraft.com.

SWEET! I rush and misclick a couple times in the wrong spot before selecting the "Collector's Edition website" wordage only to come across this page....
